Every Monday at 12:30 pm, DiskoStick Uncovered goes live on X Live

The livestream brings the masked DJ persona of DiscoExposed into a real-time digital space, where music, presence, and conceptual tension converge. Structured performance and unmediated human presence coexist, creating an immersive, reflective, and rigorously controlled environment.

DiskoStick Uncovered is the live broadcast extension of DiscoExposed. The performance unfolds in real time, combining precise DJ practice with a simultaneous exposure of human presence.

The visual language remains consistent across the project:

  • Mask: projection and constructed identity

  • Formal exterior: authority, composure, and social legitimacy

  • Exposed body: existence without narrative, vulnerability without spectacle

Broadcast conditions remove theatrical distance, situating the work in the ordinary temporality of live transmission. The camera does not document a performance after the fact, it creates the environment in which the work exists.

Musically, the stream blends classic disco foundations with deeper, recontextualised selections. Rhythm provides continuity and structure, while duration and repetition allow space for observation rather than spectacle. The performance unfolds as process rather than event.

The livestream highlights key tensions central to DiscoExposed:

  • Performance and reality occurring simultaneously

  • Authority and vulnerability sharing the same frame

  • Control enacted within conditions that cannot be fully controlled

  • Visibility negotiated in real time

Audience presence is acknowledged but not determinative. The stream is not an interactive spectacle; it invites reflection, observation, and interpretation.

Presented weekly, DiskoStick Uncovered functions as a real-time iteration of the DiscoExposed framework. A sustained exploration of how identity, presence, and authority operate when projection and reality cannot be separated.
